Just to put this out there, this game is easily a 9.5 if not for the impossible final boss. The Lich is designed around co-op play and is more about endurance in single player mode. He's a damage sponge that outlasts the ibuprofen I take for the arthritis in my hands. It's such a disappointment to have such a beautiful and joyful game end in a disaster that reminds me I'm aging and causes me physical pain because the last boss is a curve and spike in difficulty that makes me go from a fond memory of money well spent, to what a waste of time that I can't complete this beautifully done game. So if you're 15 and like retro style games you'll blast through this. If you're 50+ and being nostalgic, You're arthritis will make you hate the final boss and completely change your opinion of the game. If you have any hand issues like myself, I would say a Hard No if you like to see the ending of 20 hours **** game, if you just play and don't need to finish and just stop when it's past your endurance and skill then I highly recommend, I truly want to give this 9.5 game a Zero just because of the Final Boss and its difficulty spike. The majority of the audience seeking games like this Retro Masterpiece are Aging Gamers looking for Nostalgia. Teasing them with Greatness, just to laugh at their aging skills with the final boss is a tough joke to take. Again the majority of the game is a Beautiful Masterpiece only to be crushed by an Endurance Test of a Damage Sponge that kills all fondness for the game.

Ninja Gaiden meets Metroidvania, Beautiful game both in graphics and gameplay. It should have a larger audience and support for the developers. Gamers need more games like this, worst part of the game was Popping the Platinum and realizing it's over.

Cookie Cutter is a well down Metroidvania that keeps you pushing forward. Bosses can be tough but keep you coming back because they are not cheap. Level design is well done and abilities although standard fair for a Metroidvania are perfect for ability locks and keeps the gameflow good with rewarding backtracking. I would call it a AA+ game and such a small Studio making it is amazing. Definitely worth the price of admission.
