Great puzzle game. very relaxed. Creative setting. Going in and out of orbs feels satisfying. No puzzles that need a guide, though some require thinking for a while.

Right up my alley. I honestly was thinking more of a 7/10 the first 2.5 hours. But once I got past early quests, I loved the game. I will adjust the score as I do more of the main quest and experience the lore and stories. I have maybe 15 hours atm.I would have given a 9/10 if I was stuck with the vanilla inventory management. But I am using an inventory mod that makes it decent. This is pretty standard in BGS games at this point where the inventory is made for consoles on TVs and mods are needed to not waste so much space and to add sorting and more information. I also upped my carryweight, though I feel like they greatly improved the impact of encumbrance compared to past games. I am playing 4k on an AMD 7900 XTX with an i7-13700k and the game runs great.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom6

I was really excited to try my first Zelda game. The beginning was very disappointing with barely any story to pull me in. The game felt very dull, with an empty world, very little storytelling, and all of the storytelling through exposition instead of part of the living world. Lost interested after 3 hours. If I didn't have so many more interesting alternative, maybe I would have stuck with it. But with Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield waiting to be played, this didn't have a chance.

After playing the first two beta weekends I had access to, I swore I would never buy this game. After the final two, I was in love. This is a truly amazing game. The combat is wonderful. This is impressive considering how I didn't care for it in the first beta. Modifications made it a keeper. There is a lot of timing and smart attack sequencing involved. The quests are typical elder scrolls. Usually quests are part of 3 or 4 part stories. The character development is interesting. Your class, race, weapons, armor types (light/medium/heavy), and guilds all have their own skill lines, apart from many other skill lines. This allows you a lot of customization where any race and class combination can be any play style. Playing with others is also great. I have done a few dungeons with guildmates and traded them a lot of items. This is my first MMO experience, and I am finding it very enjoyable. This doesn't include the PvP which is also wonderful.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons10

Stunning game. If you are the type who doesn't care for character focused drama, this may not be for you. This game is brief, but epic. I am almost at the end and it has been a powerful journey. Without words, a powerful story is shared. Joyous moments seem to end in tragedy. Dark moments are tinged with humor. The young brothers casually walk through horror, showing extreme maturity at the same time as youthful playfulness. A very memorable game and a serious bargain, even with the short playing time, when it goes on sale on the various digital download platforms. The controls felt unique. It took a little time to get used to controlling one character per analog stick. While the puzzles were far from complex, the novelty of the controls and the depth of the story made it all enjoyable to me. If you are the type who wants to feel smarter than everyone else, this game could also provide you a chance to proudly rant that the game is overrated, blah, blah, blah. You all know the type. On a more earnest note, if you don't care for emotional drama, this game might be boring for you.
