Blood Bowl 27

Kinda hard to follow what's going on the screen compared to BB1, the weird camera angles, the counter-intutive UI. It's certainly prettier than it's roots, and looks more polished, but I find it really hard to navigate and long league matches would benefit from some visual representation of your progress.

Such a simple concept, perfectly polished, to create the ideal game for both couch and online play. Is it the best game of the year? I don't know, but I'd be sorely disappointed if a list didn't include it as a potential nominee. Amazing dev support!

Rogue State8
Oct 16, 2015
Just bought this. Rouge State takes on subject material few others dare to tread, and puts you in the hands of a Middle Eastern despot who has to keep his country together while facing both internal and external obstacles. The animation is mediocre, and it's not perfectly polished, but it is TONS OF FUN. The game is perfectly priced right now, and you get real-world situations thrown at you, and you've gotta constantly making tough choices with no obvious answers. I have yet to win, but every time I lose I want to come back and try again. Every time I think I get it there is a new surprise -- like a chicken dictator, or a sneak attack on my hospital, or a plague and I have to make rapid changes to my strategy to stay alive. This game is for TRUE strategy buffs who also happen to like roguelikes. The game won't hold your hand through everything though, so RTFM before diving in.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes9

This game is genius. Invite a friend over, and one defuses while the other gives instructions using only a manual you print from their website. That's it. It's basically a boardgame where you get to live out a stressful bomb defusing scene. It's a little expensive for what it is, but TONS of fun. Highly recommended.

It's not bad. A hard game, that really immerses you in the world of hacking. It feels so realistic that you forget you're playing a game after a while, which is weird. But any game where you need to either look up a tutorial on how to bounce back from a game-over detection situation, or deal with a perma-broke game, is replacing fun with realism.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain10

The Good: - Open-ended gameplay that gives you the freedom to try multiple approaches to tackling an objective. - All the style you can possibly have in a game. - Lots of polish. The ending ties together the whole series. - 80s music. The Bad: - How much did Konami pay to record Kiefer Sutherland grunting throughout the game? - After every mission, we're reminded Hideo Kojima is who makes the sun rise and the birds sing. - A story that made less sense than the other MGS games, and that's saying a lot.

Concrete Jungle9

For the $15 I paid, the game was well worth it. Love the gameplay, and the art is really pretty. Characters felt fresh in their stereotypes (the plucky, cute urban-planner, the sportsfan, the army soldier, the (French?) nerd, the deadbeat politician). You can tell the dev put a lot of love into this game, and I was really absorbed with the visuals. The art is really, really strong. There exists some limited deck-management, but only for your starting buildings. I would have liked to have the ability to customize my entire deck, but that's a minor preference. Great game, want to see more from ColePowered now.
