Moros Protocol3
Oct 8, 2025
Moros Protocol lured me in with promises of “pixel-painted sci-fi horror” and “procedural chaos,” but what it delivers feels more like a punishment than a game. The derelict-ship setting could’ve been atmospheric, but instead it’s a looping maze of identical corridors and recycled enemies, dressed up in a retro filter that feels less like style and more like camouflage for bland design. Every run is deja vu: same rooms, same jump scares, same broken dreams. Combat, meanwhile, is an act of futility. Guns feel weak, melee is mushy, and the so-called augment system is just a treadmill of stat crumbs that trick you into thinking you’re progressing. The AI companion drones, the lore teases meaning, and then: crash, bug, repeat. I’ve had augments vanish mid-run, cutscenes freeze, and one merciful blackout that felt like the game giving up on itself. There’s ambition buried somewhere deep in Moros Protocol, but it’s drowned in repetition, imbalance, and technical rot. A pixelated purgatory masquerading as a roguelite. 3/10, and that’s me being nice.
