Dangerous Driving4
May 1, 2021
Lets make this clear here: Dangerous Driving was made by a 7 development team on a limited budget, so its not going to be onpar with the previous Burnout games. Yet, the game still underdelivers in everything aspect. For having ex-Burnout devs, they completely forgot the mechanics of Burnout and what made those game great. You can't grind on the guardrails, which defeats their purpose for being plaster around the entire race track. The tracks themselves are too flat and simple, making the racing super boring. Takedowns are way to easy, so it never feels like a challenge when you can sneeze on them and they'll crash. Its also a super glitchy game. They have fixed many issues, but physic issues, freezes and crashes still accord. $30 for this? Nah, I'll spend that on much better indie racing games like GRIP: Combat Racing. Uninspired and boring!

Mafia II: Definitive Edition4
May 1, 2021
I think the biggest issue with this remaster is that it doesn't look like a remaster. Taking a look at comparison videos, a lot of the textures did get upgraded... but to less blurrier textures. At least with remasters like Burnout Paradise, every textures looks crisp and clean. However, it just seems that you are just playing the original game since many textures are still low quality and blurry. Also, none of the models were updated to higher quality ones. Then comes the issue with Apex, and PhysX. From what I understand, NVIDIA PhysX is still there, especially since the logo is shown when you start the game, but the option to enable/disable isn't in the menus anymore. However, the Apex coat physics seem to be gone or at least disabled. Once we find out more, then I'll update this. I'm still happy I got it for free for owning Mafia II, but for the people who were looking for a true remaster, this isn't it.

Full Auto9
May 1, 2021
If you are looking for the best weaponized vehicular combat game, well Full Auto is the one. As they said, this is the most destructible racing game ever. Pretty much every face of a building can be destroyed. Also, this extends to the cars, with still the best damage models ever in a racing game, excluding BeamNG.drive. The weapons feel balanced and are really fun to use, with rockets, machine guns, shotguns, grenades and more. Many can be aimed around helping to land your shots on opponents. There are different car classes with a wide range of cars to choose. Split screen is also great fun, with it much more refined than other games I've played. My main complaints with the game is its bad performance and floating driving physics. Other than this, this game delivers high octane action with destruction environments that still impress to this day. Do yourself a favor: If you got an Xbox 360, pick this game up. You won't be disappointed.

Burnout Revenge10
May 1, 2021
Simply perfection. While many want to say that the 3 game is the best every, Revenge is the pinnacle of the Burnout series. Revenge not only refines the gameplay of Takedown, but also expands on it by making the maps way more vertical, adding in crash breakers into the main events, and having traffic checking. This game turns up the chaos to 9000. A must play for arcade racer fans and vehicular combat fans. There isn't a game that continuously puts a smile on my face like Revenge.

Stranglehold7
Mar 15, 2021
Stranglehold at first might look like a Max Payne clone, but it isn't. The developers of Max Payne made it clear in the past that that they were inspired by John Woo's films, like Hard Boiled, one of his most popular movies. Later on, John Woo decided of instead of doing a movie sequel to Hard Boiled, he decided to do a sequel in video game form, Stranglehold. Developed by Midway Games' Chicago on the Unreal Engine 3, the game released on September 5, 2007. So why isn't this game well known? Well, my guess is that its due to two reasons: Lack of marketing, and 'being' a Max Payne clone. It seems that the people who knew about the game thought it was ripping off Max Payne, when actuality it was made by the person who inspired Max Payne's gameplay. Compared to Max Payne, Stranglehold is way more intense, destructive, and action packed. Instantly you are thrown into a densely packed world with waves of enemies thrown at you to kill. You jump, slide, and dive around, either in normal time, or in Tequila time, slowmotion shooting. The game also controls very well. I played on PC, but the controls should just be as good on console. What makes it so good is that Tequila, the main character, flows with the environment, automatically sliding over objects like tables without losing your aim. You also don't have to reload, which might seem stupid at first, but it makes sense for the game as you never seem to lose your momentum, taking cover to reload every 2 seconds. What also very much impressed me was the level of destruction. Like there is a lot of stuff that can break, including the rare times when you have to take cover, and the enemy shoot all of the cover. This means you can break platforms above enemies to crush them with stuff, or break platforms below their feet to have them fall to their death. With the more people you kill, you fill up a special ability bar. The abilities include precision shot, barrage, and spin attack. Like every game, it has its problems. One that I noticed is its 16:9 support. For 16:9, they just cut off the top and bottom of the 4:3 picture, which happens on any system you play it on, and you can't adjust FOV. Since it was one of the first titles to use Unreal Engine 3, the textures, and lighting look awful. Gameplay wise, because of the lack of directions in the environment, I got lost, or couldn't find my way. Some levels want you to destroy buildings that you find by looking for black smoke. That was actually harder for me that I thought, as I not only had a hard time finding them, but some of them were difficult to get to. Also, you'll see there are some areas in the environment where you can run along a railing, which shows up as a long white line above it. Sometimes its fine, but other times your aim is restricted so you can't pan over to a certain spot, or sometimes you just won't jump on even though you pressed the button. Lastly, I would have to say the difficult will spike in a few spots, as there can be way too many enemies, health packs can be hard to reach, or you run low on aim in a certain weapon. Other things I can note is the weapon bullet spread. Because there is no recoil, they went with bullet spread, which makes weapons a lot less accurate in long distance engagements. For the precision shot ability, the bullet travels way too slow, so you can miss a target if they move. Lastly, the story is alright, I just didn't find it as engaging as Max Payne. Regarding the PC port, its decent. Runs on Windows 10 with no problems. No forced mouse acceleration, thank god. FPS wise, the game runs fine at high framerates, but the weird menu controls, and how you can't adjust mouse sensitivity until you load into the game is just some of its quirks. On PC it also doesn't seem to have controller support. Lastly, both the Collector's Edition, and Map Pack DLC weren't released for PC, not like it matters though. It also doesn't use Games For Windows Live. Finding a standard edition copy, or even the collector's edition copy of this game is very cheap these days, with the game up on GOG for $10. So if you want a game that turns Max Payne up to 10, then Stranglehold is for you.

Quantum Break6
Mar 13, 2021
Damn, what a shame. This is a game I wanted to play for years, and now I finally understand why it was so poorly received. Quantum Break is an interesting idea with a relatively competent story. Yet, it all falls apart in the gameplay. Firstly, the mouse movement for this game is very weird. It makes the game feel like its running at a lower framerate due to a 'jitteriness' that I've never seen in a game before. Even when using a mod to turn off the motionblur, it doesn't fix the issue as some claimed it did. Plus, for some reason, you can't change your ADS speed, which is always lower sensitivity than your hip fire. Secondly, the gun play ****. All the weapons feel like pea shooters. Some, like the assault rifle, has a ridiculous bullet spread, while the heavy pistol has insultingly harsh recoil. It feels like they did this in order to force you to use the time abilities. For a developer that made the first two Max Payne games, this gun play is insulting. Thirdly, movement doesn't feel good. It feels very stiff like a Rockstar game as animations take priority over pinpoint movement. Like, literally at one point, Jack would refuse to jump on boxes that the game wanted him to jump on. Seriously, how is the movement system this bad? Plus, what was the reason to remove the crotch button? Now, Jack will automatically take cover when near objects. Yet, its not always consistent leaving you vulnerable. Lastly, this game just runs bad. It probably didn't help that they were using an unfamiliar API, DirectX 12, then switched to DirectX 11 for the Steam release. My system is definitely getting older, but it shouldn't chug as much as it does. Quantum Break was an interesting idea that does decent for the story execution, but completely fails when it tries to be a game...

Crysis4
Mar 13, 2021
I'm not a hater to be a hater, I generally think Crysis is not a good game. I heard so much of this game before to a point were I was so excited, and let down is every way possible. This game is horrendously optimized. It doesn't run good even on modern systems, with constantly FPS drops and stutters even not on the highest setting. It even crashed on me twice, like what a lord of crap that this game is 'optimized', stop listening to the lies. Everything about the gameplay is awful. The suit abilities are underpowered to the point where they aren't fun. Gun play is some of the worst, with a ton of recoil and bullet spongy enemies. Everything little thing can kill you, like using super speed can kill you if you run in something. The game is also glitchy, like I saw props bugging out, a gun shooting itself, multiple graphical glitches, the list can go on. Don't get me started on the last 'mission'. Without any spoilers, let me just say I had to grab a weapon that was needed later on. I forgot to grab it, so when that part came, I didn't have the weapon. So I went back to grab it, but found out that I couldn't go back. I had to load an earlier save just to get the weapon. That is the worst mission design I have ever seen. Crysis is a bad experience that has been undeserving praised to a extremely high level. This isn't the amazing game people crack it up to be.

DiRT 55
Mar 13, 2021
With the recent updates to the game, it has made great improvements. It finally fixed my issues with my controller, and gave us more controller options for deadzones and sensitivity settings. However, the game still needs work when it comes to optimization, physics, and difficult curve before I can recommend it. DiRT 5 is a mixed bag. Essentially, the best way I can describe it is that it's a more grounded, watered down version of their previous game, ONRUSH. (Codemasters Cheshire, who made DiRT 5, was originally named Codemasters EVO, who made ONRUSH 2+ years ago) However, it fails at what I wanted from a more arcade styled DiRT game. Firstly, the driving physics and handling aren’t great. They feel somewhat floaty, and the handling is way too easy. I turned off all the assists, and I had an easier time controlling these vehicles than other, more arcady racers, like Gas Guzzlers Extreme. I’m talking about on keyboard too, which I’ll mention why I’m using it over controller in a later section. I honestly rather have an arcade racer like this challenge me with vehicle physics and handling rather than with rubber banding AI... Secondly, the crashing physics ****. They got them right in ONRUSH, but yet in DiRT 5, hitting other vehicles feels like bumper cars. I’m not talking about ‘takedowns’ in ONRUSH, but it generally felt better bumping and hitting cars in that game. I know this ain’t a vehicular combat racer, but I want it to feel good for those rare times I end up smashing into players, or hell, they end up smashing into me. Thirdly, the 3rd person camera is terrible. Again, they got in right in ONRUSH, yet in this game it jerks around at every little hit & bump. Also, it tends to clip on objects if they fly past it, causing the camera to jerk into the car. Could we just have the great 3rd person camera from ONRUSH, please? Fourthly, what I didn't mention originally was the difficultly. Its weird, because some events can be really easy, yet others, like the Sprint ones, are really hard on the same difficultly setting. I turned it up multiple times, and I'm still really pulling out ahead in standard races but falling behind in others. I don't get what's wrong with the difficulty. Another reason why I’m still giving this game a negative review is because it's plagued with some of bad technical issues. I don’t care that it's a ‘live service’ model game, or that it is being worked on for current gen, next gen, and PC. We are paying $60 USD or more for a game that should have been released in a polished state. Let's start with the PC issues: •No window options (Windowed, Borderless, Exclusive Fullscreen, etc): You got to use ALT + ENTER to get into fullscreen, but it seems the game only runs in a borderless windowed fullscreen, so you don’t even get the performance boost of running in exclusive fullscreen. •Forced TAA anti-aliasing: The worst anti-aliasing method ever, which makes the game look blurry AF and causes ghosting on the vehicles. It boggles my mind there is NO WAY to turn this off, or atleast, use a different AA method... •Terrible optimization & pitiful graphics: My system is 5 years old (my specs are on my Steam profile), so I don’t expect it to be able to handle high settings, but I can’t even maintain a locked 60fps on all medium settings with the resolution settings all on 1080p. On all ultra low settings, I couldn’t even get a stable 60fps in a Gymkhana event in the Cape Town Stadium! For sakes guys! This game ain’t even that graphically impressing! ONRUSH looked not only better than DiRT 5, but also ran better than this on the PS4 Pro... Like I said in the edit, while some of the issues that I originally listed were solved, but this game still needs more work before it can be really good. Its just still just too average mechanically and gameplay wise...

Fireburst6
Mar 13, 2021
Fireburst is essentially a budget Motorstorm game with the addition of vehicular combat. Being that I was never a fan of Motorstorm, I thought I would hate this game, but actually, I like this way more than expected. The biggest thing for me is the vehicular combat. It expands on the heat mechanic in Motorstorm by spewing out fire when boosting to explode other enemies. This also allowed them to make an arena deathmatch mode based of this mechanic. This alone make the game much more interesting than just the barebones racing of Motorstorm. You have to be way more tactical with the boost, and making sure to avoid the other racers. I also like the challenges they have. There is no 'career mode', but to unlock other characters, and vehicles, they have a challenge series. Some of the challenges are boring, but others mix it up. My personal favorite was when the game inversed the driving controls. Gas was brake, brake was gas, etc. It did something I haven't seen a game do before, and I loved it for that. For the vehicles, and environments, they are great. There is no motorcycles/dirt bikes, but you can choose from muscle cars, buggies, vans, SUVs, trucks, etc. The environments are also interesting, and varied. Some are in industrial areas, some take place in desert areas, some on forestry mountains, etc. They at least do a good job of mixing up vehicle types, and environments. However, this game is a more low budget title as I mentioned before, so don't expect triple A quality when going into this. Vehicles feel floaty, physics can be wonky at times, the music is generic (although not bad), graphics are lacking for an Unreal Engine 3 game, and they made no effort to have a controls/graphical settings page, as in the launcher, they literally opens the **** and **** to edit yourself. Yes, I'm not kidding. Fireburst is definitely not for everyone, especially for die hard Motorstorm fans, but I think the game offers enough that even with it's flaws, its still an enjoyable experience.

Great game, but bad PC port: -Locked to 30FPS. -No button prompts for Xbox 360 controller. Also, only Xbox 360 controllers will work for the menus. Any other controller requires you to use keyboard to navigate. -Was never updated, meaning it has issues and glitches that have been fixed on consoles. -Never received any of the DLC. -Online was shut down, yet on consoles, the online still works. Maybe one day we can hope for a remaster that fixes these issues, but as it stands now, the PC port is inferior to the console versions.

F.E.A.R.8

F.E.A.R. plus its expansion packs Extraction Point, and Perseus Mandate, are some of the most intriguing games I've played. Horror was never a genre of games I could get into, however these games blend horror with great first person action. This game reminds me of a tech demo, but made into a very serviceable game. The story is not ever super clear, but its great piecing it together, and making sense of the world, and the crazy **** happening in it. Voice acting is done very well, and isn't cringy in any way. The atmosphere is just perfect, with the gray, and brown color scheme that just works. Gun fights consists of ricochets, sparks, smoking, intense gun fire that is a beautiful sight to see. However, one thing became pretty apparent, especially during the play throughs of the expansions packs: The padded out campaign. The story and action is usually drip feed when walking through the huge levels, and without the ability to run, it makes it slower going through the levels, and backtracking for equipment. Other than this complaint, F.E.A.R. is a great game. A must have for PC players!

Shadow of the Tomb Raider6
Feb 20, 2021
Shadow of the Tomb Raider isn't a bad game, but it falls short. Shadow of the Tomb Raider plays it way too safe. It feels like I am playing a big story DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider. While this can be considered a good thing, I see it as the publisher not taking enough risk, and pushing out cookie cutter games. There are improves here and there, but the game lacks the polish Rise had. Animations are jankier, optimization seems worse, clipping, glitches are more evident. But again, its not horrible, but noticable. Story wise, the game actually makes you kinda hate Lara. She essentially makes a huge mistake, doesn't own up to it, and tries going right back to again save the world from Trinity! Not only do I hate playing as the main character, but her reason to exist is to fight Trinity. Again, the story is played too safe by just continuing the Trinity organization that I thought ended in Rise. Can we atleast be fighting something different now? Originally, I was not going to review this game. After though of hearing the review bombing because of the discount weeks after release, I decided that I couldn't give the game a pass anymore. It was the build up of everything wrong with this game, and the discount was just the cherry on the top. It shows alot when a game is put on sale weeks after release, not to the customers who willing bought the game, but to the publisher essentially showing their newly released game isn't worth $60, never mind the boat loads for the other editions. --The Missteps of Shadow of the Tomb Raider-- Planning DLC before the game's release. Ridiculous DLC pricing, pre-orders, and editions. Focusing on RTX NVIDIA technology instead of core elements of the game. Still using Denuvo... Playing it too safe, gameplay and story wise. Making you hate Lara. Lacks the polish of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Discount 6 weeks after release. "Congratulations, you played yourself." -DJ Khaled

I can not express how awful this game is. Its the worst vehicular combat game I've ever played. You have horrible graphics, bad controls, horrible sound design, **** stock music, wonky physics, and just a glitchy, boring experience. There is no redeeming quality to any of these games. You may noticed that both of my reviews for MadOut, and MadOut Ice Storm are the same. Why? Because they are literally the same game. Even on the Steam store pages, they literally have the same description. The only differences is that MadOut Ice Storm has slightly different graphics, more events, and microtransactions. Why the **** did the developer have to charge for a whole separate game when they could have just updated MadOut. Avoid this game, and the MadOut series like the plague. The MadOut series is nothing more than hot garbage mobile games that are dumped on Steam with zero quality control. Save your money, and buy something like Gas Guzzlers: Combat Carnage, which cost $5, compared to MadOut: Ice Storm which costs $7, and the original MadOut costing $10.

Drake of the 99 Dragons1
Feb 20, 2021
This is by far the worst third person shooter I've ever played. I'm not exaggerating. This game started off as this 'haha funny' bad game, but it slowly gets way more frustrating and broken as you continue. This game has gotten me more mad then any other game I've played. The movement system is horrendously bad. In games like Max Payne, moving the camera also moves the character. This means the camera and character are always facing the forward. However in this game, the camera moves independently of Drake's actions, causing tons of issues, including that many times the bullets literally DON'T go to where you are aiming since Drake's arms are all over the place. Jumping is also 50/50 where sometimes he will jump and double jump find, and other times where he feels stuck to the ground. Also Drake will literally wall run on anything. A beam? Yup he'll run around it. A boss? Yup, wall run on that too. Tires? Yup, nothing stops him from wall running. Since you can't activate or cancel the wall running, you're just left helpless as you are stuck in the animation. There is so much more wrong with the controls than I can say here, so you really have to play the game to understand why they are bad... Gunplay ****. The pistols are really the only good weapons for regular enemies as any SMGs are wildly inaccurate at like any god damn range. Plus there is no reload button. Want to reload your gun? You have to dump the remaining mag. Get this: In the demo of the game, which comes with the Steam version, they had a reload button and removed it in the final game. WHY!?! Story? Yea, forget it. Voice acting is bad, and the story just happens with no reason at all. I didn't understand the story until after seeing reviews on this game. That's how incoherent it is. Environments also are terrible. Many are way too small to make proper use of wall running. Plus they provide like no good cover from enemies. I swear the enemies who shoot have like 99% accurate. They will hit you CONSTANTLY, and since you lose a lot of health per shot, you can die just entering in a room. Enemies that go for melee hits will gang up causing you to be take cheap hits and it flings you around the room like a **** ragdoll. Also the health only heals 10 points. Good luck trying to survive when you are constantly at 30 health and lower because you literally can't heal enough. Also for a comic book style game, it hasn't aged particular well graphically. I think of examples like Cel Damage that still look good to this day, yet this game just looks so bland. Doesn't help that the PC version of this game is missing widescreen support that was on the Xbox version, ugh. The only redeeming thing about this game is that its original soundtrack is really good. Though, it ruined by have the same songs being play multiple times on different levels... couldn't even get that right... If you hate yourself, pick this game up. If you don't hate yourself, I recommend playing the first two Max Payne games, El Matador, and The Punisher (2005) game, which are much, much better than this... **** this game.

Hotshot Racing5
Feb 20, 2021
Hotshot Racing has the potential to be a really great arcade racer, but it just falls short. It has multiple problems stemming from the physics, AI and boost system that hold it back. Lack of Content One common complaint I saw was the amount of content at launch. A lot of the original game modes were scrapped, mostly likely due to their reliance on the weapons to make them function properly. This left the game with a lot less content than it was originally supposed to have. Due to this, the game had an anemic launch with only four tournaments and four gamemodes. Thankfully, it seems like we will be getting additional free updates to add more content, with the newest Big Boss update adding in a new tournament, a new gamemode and four new tracks. Lackluster Track Design While Hotshot Racing’s tracks look amazing, their design is very lacking. All the tracks are very flat and way more simple than other arcade racers. I couldn’t understand this at first, but then it hit me: these maps were originally designed with the vehicular combat in mind. In a weaponized combat racer, it's better to have more flat and less complex tracks for the weapons to be usable. With the weapons now gone, it draws a lot more attention to the basic map design. While I don’t think they should change the tracks we have now, they should consider making more vertical and complex maps for the future. Floaty Vehicle Physics Something just doesn’t feel right with the vehicle handling in this game. I believe the issue mainly stems from the floaty driving physics. I noticed that when taking corners, my wheels would lift off the ground on relatively flat surfaces. This completely throws off the vehicle handling when it happens. While I feel like the vehicle handling and drifting mechanics itself needs to be worked on more, I would like to see how much better they would be if vehicles had way more downforce. Combative AI & Bad Collision Physics Regarding the AI, they are WAY too combative. They hit, smash, and spin me like I’m playing a Burnout game. Seriously, I played vehicular combat games that have less aggressive AI than this. It wouldn’t be so bad if the collision physics were good, but they ****. Many times your car will lift off the ground when getting hit, causing the same vehicle handling problems I mentioned beforehand. Also, sometimes you don’t get affected at all and other times you are sent heading straight for a wall. For a game that demands perfect precision and control from the player, it’s out of control AI and terrible collision physics makes the racing way more frustrating than it should be. AI Rubberbanding The rubberbanding is another huge problem. Rather than it being that hardcoded rubberbanding, where the AI increases their top speed to catch up, it seems to be moreso a problem stemming from how the boost system works. The boost works by giving you a huge increase of speed when you fill up one of the bars. The only way to get boost is either from drifting or slipstreaming other cars. It seems pretty standard, but the problem is when you pull out in front, you can’t slipstream any cars, meaning you can only get boost from drifting. This leaves you vulnerable in long straights as the AI behind you have been slipstreaming you or each other to build up enough boost to continually pass you. This also means that if you fall way behind, it can be extremely hard to catch back up. The game essentially encourages you not to get to the front but rather stay behind the leaders until the very end. This issue could be easily fixed by not giving boost from slipstreaming, but rather just giving enough of a speed boost to pass a player. Overall, Hotshot Racing is a mixed experience. I can’t not recommend it as all these issues combine to make Hotshot Racing a wildly inconsistent and frustrating experience. With more updates planned in the future, I hope one day I can say Hotshot Racing feels perfect, but it still got a long way to go.

Mafia III3
Feb 20, 2021
This is not an acceptable game for 2016. The amount of glitches, repetitiveness, and lack of other missions, and jobs to do after you complete the story is poor. Mafia 3 tried hard to bring back the Mafia series, but it crashed and burned. I had so much hope for this game, but it turned out to be another No Man's Sky of 2016. This is what happens when you give a good game series to a different developer who has no idea on how to make proper video games. I had so high hopes for this game, but I was let down once again by the gaming industry. This game is so awful. When I decided to play on PC, it was because I have a choice. I could choose my hardware, my software, my resolution, my framerate, and my graphics, but what Hangar 13 did is unacceptable. They locked the game to 30FPS, and their reason for that is: "The team has been hard at work ensuring that Mafia III’s performance is consistent across all platforms, and right now the game runs at a solid 30 frames-per-second." That's the most **** I have ever heard in one sentence. Mafia III for PC is a console port. The game has so many problems when it comes to reflections, lighting, and no SLI support. The antialiasing just blurs the game to make the edges look better, the PC controls are horrendous, and the game is being upscaled from 720p. It's so damn hard to focus on the story aspect when the screen is tearing, the graphics are glitching out, things pop in at ridiculous distance, but wait, they are releasing a patch to make the game run over 60FPS, and fix the issues. Too late, you already screwed up the game's launch, and what you have done will not be forgotten. They did release the patch to unlock the framerate, but since they never optimized the game good, it still runs like **** This was my birthday present, and it's the worst **** birthday present I have ever gotten. Hangar 13 didn't deliver on their promise on putting time, and effort into their PC version. You had 5 **** years to sort all this **** out, but you didn't. Nice job Hangar 13, you made a sequel to Mafia II worse. Don't buy this game.

Death Track: Resurrection is an odd game. Its definitely not the worst vehicular combat game, however it falls very short compared to other titles. The best way to describe it is that its one of the most schizophrenic game I've ever played. Lets address the elephant in the room: the graphics & artstyle. People have **** about them but I don't see a problem with them. Sure, the game is old, so the graphics are dated, but the color palette is not the worst, as even drab environment will have brighter, neon colors. The biggest problem is just there is way too much **** The HUD is clustered with a ton of stuck ranging from picked up powerups, point values, and AI names. The environment themselves are way too busy, with shortcuts you have to open by shooting props, buildings to shoot for some reason and got damn laser drones that add nothing of value other than being annoying ****s. There is also a lot of surround scenery, powerups and environmental details that may seem they won't get in the way, but they do. Billboards, underpasses, etc are incredibly annoying, and make it so hard to see. I swear I can't even shoot at some of the buildings because they are blocked by objects, and when my weapon finally locks on, its too late! The game has that very arcade/mobile type of brainless gameplay where all you have to worry about is driving while weapons automatically lock onto targets. This also applies to enemies as well, so they can end up getting free shots as you can't avoid them. Its not fun, and is very frustrating to play against. The physics also kinda ****. I can't seem to get a good feel for vehicle handling, which feels both understeery and oversteery at the same time. Plus, cars don't collide really well, and going off a jump wrong can send you crashing, and landing awkwardly. Sound design is alright. In game sounds are a bit muted, and plenty of weapons just don't have that 'kick' because they sound incredibly weak. However, the soundtrack is kinda nice. Its was a soundtrack made specifically for this game, and its very decent. There is some songs that I can pass on, but a few are some good bangers. I especially love the menu music, it just feels right. Oh, how can I forget, the AI difficulty in this game is crazy. Even on low difficulty, they are very hard. Its like impossible to win races on higher difficulties. They rubber band so hard No care was put into balancing the AI. If you try running the game over 60FPS, you'll find that the nitro is completely broken. Not only does it not even work properly, the visuals also glitch out, with possible the worst distorted sound, ever. The game also refused to shut down properly as well, forcing me to go into Task Manager to end the process. Now, you might have seen that a couple of years later, a PS3 version was released. Even though the PS3 version has a DLC car and has split screen & online multiplayer, avoid it at all costs. It has worse physics, horrendous controls, and even worse sound design. So if you are going to get this game, you might as well stick with the PC version. Overall, while Death Track: Resurrection is not the worst vehicular combat game I've ever played, its still not a fun experience that is just frustrating and boring. This will be another vehicular combat game that you should avoid.

Gas Guzzlers Extreme8
Feb 20, 2021
This might not be Twisted Metal, or Full Auto, but its still hella fun. Gas Guzzlers Extreme is very impressive for a small indie company. The environments are simplistic, but a very nice diversion from the eye candy filled arenas where you can't see anything. The vehicle models also look really good, and they have plenty of vehicles to choose from. The damage models is also decent as well, although it not as detailed as I would like it to be. The physics, and driving feels just so good. Cars feel like they have weight, and driving smooth as butter. The events consist of racing, and arena style matches, which are very enjoyable, and a bit rage inducing at the same time. Shooting is a bit lackluster, as some weapons seem like they can't anything, or do like no damage. AI can be smart, and dumb at the same time, mostly in arena events like Capture the Flag where your team will do some dumb as thing where you end up having to take over. In terms of performance, and optimization, moving to DirectX 11 immensely helped the game, with it running pretty good on my system, and they have plenty of options for graphics. They also even provide both a 32bit version, and a 64bit version. This isn't a PC port, this was made on PC, for PC. Over all, even with the slight downsides, this game is very fun if you want a taste of vehicular mayhem.

Tick Tock Bang Bang4
Feb 20, 2021
Tick Tock Bang Bang is SUPERHOT if it was done in all the wrong ways. I have no problem with 'copycats', but it's clear that Dejobaan Games slapped this together, while not understanding the game they were copying. The main thing is the slowmotion. The problem is that when you start moving, the game instantly snaps to full speed. In SUPERHOT, the game has a slight delay so you have time to process the change from slowmotion to full speed. This also applies to the sound as well. There is no smooth transition, so you go from slow muted audio, to loud, fast audio instantly. Couple that with bad sound design means that it is just so jarring, and distracting when trying to play. Like, how can you mess up the essential, and core mechanic that badly!?!? Artstyle wise, the game looks fine. I mean, I noticed that it seems that a lot of the assets where taken from their other game, Drunken Robot Pornography, which does come off a bit lazy, but there is one thing that I hate: The bloom. The bloom is ridiculous, and you can only turn it off by choosing a lower setting preset. There is no other graphic options other than the presets given. So now I have to play on potato graphics settings just so I can see **** Just WHY?!?! Why is it so hard to have a check box, or graphic options to change individually. It's lazy, and stupid. Just for these reasons alone, the game is just frustrating, and down right annoying to play. I'm quite frankly disappointed. This game showed a lot of potential, and could have offered us something a bit different in this new FPS take, but it just falls short.

Super Street: The Game4
Feb 20, 2021
Alright, while I will admit that Super Street: The Game is not as bad as people make it out to be, as it is honestly probably the best game Team6 ever, and will ever make. Yet, I still can't recommend it. The Good -Great vehicle models, with a decent amount of vehicles to choose from. -Originally, you could only have one project car save slot, now you can own multiple project cars. -Great sense of speed. -Environments are pretty good, with plenty detail, props to crash into, traffic roaming the streets, etc. -Incredible customization, I mean I am thoroughly impressed by the amount of parts per vehicle. -Physics aren't perfect, but much better than their previous games, and better than other racing games made in UE4. The Bad -Graphics are very ugly. It has that awful smeared, blurry UE4 look, with settings that don't stick, and reset themselves. -Inconsistent FPS in certain areas, and no option to automatically turn down graphic settings when playing in split screen, leading to horrible performance when in split screen. -The most basic, bog standard, generic soundtrack you'll ever here. -Awful sound effects, literally reusing crash sounds effects from their older games, or even not having sound effects, like no 'boosting' sound. -Races pay out nothing, leading to a very slow progression. -For many of the performance part prices, a higher price does not mean better performance. Why make it a higher price if there is no added benefit! -Cars are way to soft when deforming. I swear that you could sneeze, and blow off the whole front end. -Way too over priced. Usually I don't **** about price, but charging $40 ($50 on the eShop for Super Street: Racer!) is a ridiculous price for a game like this. Its not worth it. Lion Castle Entertainment hasn't given up on Super Street, as Super Street: Racer on the Switch was released November 7th, 2019. This means that both Super Street: The Game, and Super Street: Racer have the possibly of being improved on, but as it stands now, Super Street: The Game a disappointment to fans of the arcade racing genre.

Street Racing Syndicate6
Feb 20, 2021
Street Racing Syndicate is the combination of Juiced, and Need for Speed Underground 2 made with a shoestring budget, at least it feels like that. In terms of the Juiced elements, you have betting, racing series, and races that take place on closed courses rather than street racing. For its NFS Underground 2 aspects, it have customization, and an open world to explore. It does have cops, which neither game has. In terms of the gameplay, its alright. The physics, especially the handling of some cars, can be very bad, and you don't get a great sense of speed like in other games. The music **** in my opinion. Nothing that really stands out, or enhances the racing experience. Its definitely not a bad game, but it falls short compared to other titles at the time. However, for how cheap it is, I still recommend it as it can be an enjoyable game at times, especially since the PC port has split screen. Every single racing game from the 6th generation of consoles removed split screen on PC: LA RUSH, FlatOut, FlatOut 2, Juiced, NFS Underground 1 & 2, Midnight Club II, the list just goes on and on. Yet, not this game. Even though its not listed on the Steam storefront, this game does have split screen, which not only works with controllers, but works with Steam Remote Play. I give them massive props for this. Overall, Street Racing Syndicate is a okay game that I recommend if you are looking for alternates to Juiced, and NFS Underground 2. If not, just stick with those games because they are definitely more fun, and much better quality.

Inversion7
Feb 20, 2021
Inversion is surprising much better than I expected. Right away, you can tell its a Gears of War clone, with how the game is setup, with things like the running, cover, and weapons. Yet, it introduces things like gravity manipulation that spice up the gameplay, with a lot of destructible environments to fight in. I even joked that is started becoming a Crysis and Mass Effect clone towards the last half of the game as it changes weapons and locations pretty drastically. This isn't the most polished or fleshed out experience, but still good none the less. Story wise, its alright. The characters aren't the best, and the gameplay is always interrupted with unnecessary cutscenes. You can play the campaign in co-op, either splitscreen or over LAN. Even though Gamespy has been shutdown for online, you can still play co-op or multiplayer using services like Radmin VPN and Zerotier to emulate LAN over the internet. Its not perfect, but playing the story with a friend is highly fun and we laughed a good amount of times during it. While Inversion can't live up to the heights of the games it copies, it still provides enjoyable gameplay with plenty of funny moments stemming from its gravity defying gameplay.

Hatred4
Feb 20, 2021
I have no problem with a game like this, that is not the reason I am giving this a negative review. If you look at it, Hatred was pretty much a publicity stunt for a new studio to get controversy to get money, and... it worked. People hopped on this game to defend its content matter, when really neither the content matter or gameplay is even that good. Many issues like low framerate, graphical glitches, execution glitches, terrible camera position, bad voice acting from the main character, and stupid AI hold it back from being really good. I get that they were going for a Postal style game here, with the camera locked in a overhead view. However, Postal did it because of how it was designed. This game could have easily been modified to be played in 3rd person. The main character sounds like someone trying to force themselves to act 'edgy', and 'threaten'. Why the AI runs back into the same house their buddy was just shot it destroys the whole point of people 'scared for their life.' Somethings are done right, like the environmental destruction, voicing acting of the civilians and executions, to a certain extend. One thing that was also blown way out of portion was the executions. They are supposed to be this gnarly showcase of dying in the worse possible way, but I've seen better, and even more gruesome executions in games like Manhunt 2, and The Punisher. Hatred can be enjoyable, but I find that the game is more of a publicity stunt, then an actual game.

Manhunt5
Feb 20, 2021
I always wondered why Manhunt wasn't given as much attention as much as Rockstar's other hit games. Now I understand why. I want to make this clear. This review is not negative because of the violence, or because of the issues with newer Window's OS. I don't recommend this game because its not enjoyable. The story can be phrased in one sentence. Killing gang members for a snuff film in order to gain freedom. While having a simple story isn't necessarily bad, it makes the game even more of a drag. The game has a great, griddy, dark vibe to it that I like. However, with that comes these very boring, unrealistic, and uninteresting environments to go through. Navigating these restricted environments can be tricky when there are few dark areas to hide in and a ton of gang members. Another huge issue is the long time to complete a level. This will be the slowest stealth game you will ever play. While games like Hitman also take a lot of time, with good planning, and strategy, it keeps you in interesting environments, with many approaches. Here, you literally have to either wait for them to turn their back to go for a quick kill, or fight them head on. You can make noise to attract them to a certain area, or run into a dark area to escape them, but that's all the variety you will experience. It becomes super repetitive, and its really not that rewarding to get a kill after a while. That leads me to my biggest frustration, the save points. Sometimes there are huge areas you have to cross before you can reach a save point to save your game. There is no auto-save, and you can't save anywhere that you want. This means that you are essentially forced to keep playing a level to reach a save point so you wouldn't have to do it all over again. So if you die during the level, you are better off just quitting the game before you punch a hole through your screen. One of the best levels is the last bonus scene. It is a timed event, however the AI feels smarter, and you have more options on your approach. Sadly its the only mission like it. Just like what I said about Hatred, and Postal, there is no subsistence to this game, it was made just purely for the controversy.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions6
Feb 20, 2021
It seems that everytime an IP is handed off to another development studio, they can never capture what the original dev team made. Activision shut down Bizarre Creations, the original development team behind all of the Geometry War games. So now without the original team, Activision goes to Lucid Games, made up by some of the original devs who worked at Bizarre. Yet, even with this, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved fails to capture what made the first two games so good. Firstly the artstyle. Something just seems... off. The 3D, and muted look of the enemies really hampers the game's atmosphere, and nearly does not look as good as Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2. Secondly the sound design, it ****. The songs, and sound effects just aren't good, which really dulls down the excitement. Nothing has that punchy yet fun, and light tone like in GW2. Thirdly, the 3D maps. The 3D maps are definitely a cool addition, however they are incredibly disorienting. I usually don't suffer from motion sickness, but after paying this game for too long, it really messes with my head. Seeing that the game essentially forces you to play these maps mean that I struggle to play without getting headaches. I also had some really weird imput lag/stuttering. The issue stems from the game always defaulting to a 60Hz refresh rate, even with VSync off. I had to fix these issues by manually editing the settings file to change the refresh rate to 144Hz, and made the game run in Windows mode instead of Fullscreen to avoid screen tearing. There is NO excuse to why these settings aren't game menu. But not everything is bad. The game has 4 player online multiplayer, and local split screen, though you can only go through a 'career' type mode rather than being able to choose what gamemodes to play. They also made the enemy spawns more apparent, meaning you have more time to react instead of being insta-killed. You also have a career mode, with bosses to battle which can be very interesting. Sadly, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved is a lackluster entry in the series.

RICO2
Feb 20, 2021
What a disappointment. I wasn't expecting triple A quality here but this game is just very low quality and boring. The problem lies in that its the same gameplay loop over and over that doesn't get changed up. You go to a randomly generated location, break down doors, kill enemies that were spawned in randomly, and do other objectives to complete the mission. You do this for how ever many times needed because the mission structure is also randomly generated. That gameplay concept sounds like it could be interesting, but because of this game's low budget and terrible production quality, this game is hurt by: -Repetitive environments as the game just consists of rooms and rooms just pasted together from its random generation. -**** AI, that get stuck, and that sometimes looking in the opposite direction when I would first enter a room. -Bad gunplay because the muzzle flash is way to big and obstructive. -Sound effects are really crappy with weapons having no punch to them, and items breaking with little to no sound. -Animations are incredibly stiff, with reload animations slamming into your own head. -Movement is limited, not only due to cramped environments, but a lack of running and gunning. They also decided that when breaking down a door, a slowmotion effect would be applied if enemies are in that room. Its funny, because literally like 20 years ago when Remedy Entertainment was making Max Payne, they knew forcing slowmotion when entering a room was awkward and took control away from the player. Yet for some reason the RICO developers were like "Yup, thats fine." What could have been an interest concept was botched with terrible execution and a reliance on random generation to make the game more interesting. Just avoid this title. It'll put you to sleep.

Layers of Fear (2015)3
Feb 20, 2021
There is a reason why I don't play games like this, and I know why now. All it really is, is a walking simulator. Exploring is not really a part of the game. You explore, and hit a dead end. Then, you go to where the game wants you to go. You do interact with objects, and other parts of the world, but you just head in one linear direction. The game is not even that scary. I jumped more in Rainbow Six Siege, than this game. I guess you could say it was creepy, but that's about it. The ending was just not satisfying as the game never comes out to explain the story either, you can only gather hints while playing through. I guess it makes sense for a game like this, but I was completely lost at what happened to this guy. I am glad I got this for free, paying for this walking simulator is a rip off.
