Very enjoyable, good humoured, aliens and robots with more character than most *people*... The level of space station management is perfect to engage the player and keep them hooked for many hours or enjoyment. Highly recommend.

MechCommander 29
Jun 13, 2012
Fantastic game. Mechcommander was (is) good, and the sequel is actually better. Graphically it's everything it needs to be, gameplay-wise there's notable differences between the mechs and huge flexibility in how you approach each level and objective. Personally I'd give it an 8.5, but 9 will do. Recommended.

Massively ahead of it's time, and few modern releases even get close to this for it's gameplay. Never playing this game is as much a crime as never playing Deus Ex; it should be taught in frikkin schools.

Homeworld: Cataclysm9

Actually a very enjoyable sub-sequel (it was originally meant to be an addon, but ended up being released as a stand-alone game) to the original, with huge amounts of atmosphere and many of the little annoyances of the original ironed out (combat commands from map screen implimented, auto-harvesting resources at end of missions instead of waiting for hours, etc). Very worth aquiring this one for any RTS collection.

Nothing quite like it, before or since. Massive RTS with huge replayability value; add to that the sheer amount of customisation that can be done (the mods, the extra units, maps, etc which are all easily downloadable) and you've got a game of legend.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm6

Looks nice, chronically average gameplay. Necrons genuinely feel different to play; Tao play like the **** love-child of the Necrons and the Eldar, and all the other races are basically the same with different, albeit nice looking skins. *Yawn* of War.

Sid Meier's Pirates!10

Gets an instant 10/10 for being the best pirate game ever made (don't believe those "Monkey Island" purists). The difficulty can be changed *while playing*. This is awesome! If you find you're having too easy a time plundering you can divide the loot and up the difficulty. Higher difficulty settings grant you access to different items to help you in your piracy and new quests. Your reflexes get slower with age, making swashbuckling duels tougher. There's all kinds of nice details like this waiting for you AFTER sinking everything French stops being "fun" and starts to feel more like "community service". All I can say is play it.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War6
Jun 13, 2012
Nice graphics with some decent gameplay, but lacks the replayability value and variety that seperates an average game from a legendary one. It's a shame, because the franchise has so much potential and a lot of effort has gone into making the game look good. One outstanding thing is there's some decent customisation options you can do to your squads and vehicles to tailor them to the roles you want, which is a very nice touch. On the downside, only the Necrons have a "unique" feel to playing them compared to the other races, with all the other factions being essentially the same race with different skins. The Tao are fairly unique, but only because they lack many of the features the Imp/Marines/Chaos/Eldar/DEldar/SoB uni-race has. Maybe "unique" is the wrong word... "Special". Yeah that's the word.
