Black The Fall7

This game is a decent. The mechanics are very simple and the puzzles simple to match but it takes a little while before they become interesting at all. EVERYTHING feels scripted, it's not a game with a fully fledged out physics engine. Its gameplay is highly similar to INSIDE by Playdead studios but doesn't feel like the massive letdown INSIDE was compared to it's spiritual prequel, LIMBO lmao. The atmosphere is very well made but again, simple. Fairly low poly count but it gets across a bleak atmosphere of a world gone to the authoritative rule of a supremely powerful and oppressive dictatorship. I got it in the Humble Monthly bundle, it's worth about $15, maybe on sale. Don't go out of your way to play this, it's a relaxed, low energy game.

Man is this game fun! It reminds me of Battlefield 3 which is my favourite game of all time, medic res trains, **** airstrikes and easy, fun, rewarding shooting. Mobility and wall jumps make the game feel very fast and exciting. For those that say it's Pay2Win, it's pay to have all the mercs unlocked but the free rotation makes things nice. Every merc is good they just need to be in the right situation. Shotgun Aura is bae. The devs are becoming money hungry in recent times but it's all cosmetic so there aren't enormous gameplay advantages to be had from spending more money on the game.

I've only played the first level and I can already tell I won't open it again. The art and environment are very well done but the gameplay is just far too simple to be worth my time. I like games that provoke thinking and encourage creativity but this game is a linear theme park. Companion bro is SAAAH CUTE. I bought it on sale because I loved the dev's other game Shadow Tactics and on their website they advertise this game as the winner of over 14 awards, but these are more visual art awards rather than gameplay awards. This game would have been great when I was 10 years old but at this point in my life it doesn't pique my interest.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun9

Very engaging and thought provoking game. You need a lot of patience to play this game well and a good deal of creativity to get through certain problems, which is indicative of good game design. The controls can be a bit stupid with respect to the camera angle, if you click on a roof edge for example when trying to hide in a bush you'll squat in the middle of the road and be spotted, which can be incredibly annoying. The pathing can also be bad at times, if you click on the ground but there's a ladder you need to go down, you won't go down the ladder. One level I couldn't jump off a dock into the water when there was nothing stopping me, I jumped off a similar dock 5 minutes later. One level I killed a samurai while people who were looking over were distracted and for no discernible reason they lost focus on my distraction and alerted the whole firing squad. Apart from the stray bug here and there, the game behaves very well. The setting and art style is very well done, it feels complete and the environments are highly polished. The characters and voice acting are fairly simple and the story is somewhat typical, it's good but not great. Pro tip - Quick save before you try ANYTHING risky. I even bound one of my side mouse buttons to be F5 just to make it that much easier.

An enjoyable game that forces you to think abstractly. A plethora of interacting mechanisms gave decent satisfaction once solving each puzzle, once you get past the introductory fluff. I played this game over a 3 month period doing 2-4 puzzles each sitting. Many other user reviews here say it falls short of delivering a Portal 2 or Talos Principle quality game and I'll cop that but it's a unique and fun game nonetheless. GOOD ENDING.
