Flint

This serious-minded Lifetime movie puts human faces on the water crisis. ... Most compellingly, viewers see the damage the poison continues to wreck on ordinary people. [20/27 Oct 2017, p.89]

Flint is an admirable salute to the power of grass-roots activism as well as a laudable public service message.

Flint is entirely non-exploitative and honorable in its intentions and largely average in its execution, elevated mostly by a splendid ensemble of actresses.

For no good reason at all, it’s framed with superfluous voiceover. The urgency and terror of mysterious illnesses don’t quite translate to the screen, despite fine performances by leads Betsy Brandt, Marin Ireland, and Jill Scott.
