It’s the sort of buoyant, all-ages entertainment that Hollywood has been laboring to revive in recent years (most recently with Hairspray) but hasn’t managed to get right until now, and the glue holding it all together is the incomparable Adams (an Oscar nominee for 2005’s Junebug), who gives the kind of blissful screwball performance that seemed to go out of fashion after "I Love Lucy" left the airwaves.

Disney goes meta in this witty, exuberant musical comedy whose parody and nostalgia serve a sweet and affecting romance.

Enchanted crafts a sweet and funny fantasy to modern day adventure filled with romance and surprising twists.

Though writer Bill Kelly’s script takes extreme liberties with plot development and never really leaves you guessing about who’ll get the girl, the jokes rarely miss and the result is a refreshingly sardonic fairy tale.

Adams does offer quite a turn: Portraying a version of Disney's Snow White, she owns the character, down to every warble and twirl.

More important, it has a Disney willingness to allow fantasy into life, so New York seems to acquire a new playbook.
70
A sometimes clever, other times grating mix of live action and animation that plays tricks with levels of movie reality as the world of fairy-tale animation invades contemporary New York.

Given the possibilities it's not particularly inventive, but it is nice to see a comedy so affectionate with the conventions it spoofs.

This film of animation and fantasy is based on the accidental journey of a princess to our world. Amy Adams is the actress who gives life to the princess Giselle, young and innocent, happy and hopelessly romantic. James Marsden made a good performance as Prince Edward, but who really makes some chemistry with Adams is her romantic pair, the skeptical and pragmatic Robert, played by Patrick Dempsey. Susan Sarandon is the villain, Narissa. In the supporting cast, Idina Menzel has been relatively well, Timothy Spall shone with his accent and theatrical manners, and a small squirrel, Pip, deserves congratulations. The script is very original, blending our world with the fantasy world we are used to circumscribe to animated films and fairy tales. The pace is fast, things are happening rather quickly. The characters are forced to get accustomed to our world, much less charming and innocent than theirs, and we were delighted to see the countless hilarious moments that result from this adaptation. The animated scenes were very well done and easily brought to our memory the traditional animated films that we saw in childhood. But even some scenes in the rest of the film have made discrete reproductions of some famous scenes of these films, resulting in a very moving homage to this genre. The ending of the film is beautiful but very predictable, there is no surprise in the way it ends, and that is a little disappointing. The film also has several interesting songs, filmed in an original way an normally singed by Giselle. This is a movie designed for families, which will easily please everyone. It's not a fully animated movie, it has minor flaws but it's nice.

you want a show, i will give you a show.. Enchanted The compilation of different borrowed ideas from in house Disney production installed as Easter eggs does bring a smile here and there but the original concept wears off easily for it relies completely onto it throughout the course of the feature. Kevin Lima is at its best on depicting this amusing world and its fine details with the help of its powerful script by Bill Kelly. On performance objective, Amy Adams has got it covered all with a great supporting cast like Susan Sarandon and Timothy Spall. Enchanted works like a charm as a love letter to all the early Disney features but it fails to capture its essence on terms of its sketchy aspects and originality.

When I seen the trailer, I thought the movie was funny and original. The movie was original enough but then I realised they already shown all the funny bits in the trailer. And finally, this movie was horribly cheesy.
