Even though this is just a blood-stained shadow of Argento’s previous masterworks, the fact that he has produced something worthwhile again is a cause for celebration.

Like a steady hand holding a straight razor, Argento cuts through the story with clean swipes. Dark Glasses has little room for twists and turns; it holds nothing up its sleeve and asks little more of the viewer than to sit still and enjoy the ride.

I really liked this horror/thriller film. It has a very 70s vibe to it that is only enhanced by the score, costumes and cinematography.

After suffering through "Dracula (not) 3D" a few weeks ago, "Dark Glasses" surely could not get any worse than that. And to my surprise, it was pretty okay! I really liked Diana, the kid was good, the kills were good, the score was amazing and the direction was miles away from Argento's more recent efforts. Sure, you can tell this didn't have a big budget, some actors are not the very best, the plot is questionable, and the whole deal about the killer wasn't very interesting to me. The worst offender in this was the awful color saturated digital look that kind of ruined the experience a bit.

There are set pieces scattered throughout Dark Eyes that are as strange — and as strangely beautiful — as the best of Argento, starting with an unnerving opening sequence that sees a group of people in a park gazing at a solar eclipse.

While it wouldn’t exactly be accurate to say that Dark Glasses was worth waiting a decade for, a world in which Argento continues working till the bitter end is preferable to one in which we don’t have movies like this at all.

I haven't seen the movie so I can't comment on that, but the poster immediately grabbed my attention. It's almost an exact copy of the poster for the classic John Carpenter movie "They Live" (1988).
