The first shot tells us 45365 is the zip code of the town." In this achingly beautiful film, that zip code belongs to Sidney, Ohio, a handsome town of about 20,000 residents.

Directors Turner Ross and Bill Ross IV, brothers and native sons of Sidney, find poetry in images of the mundane.

A seductive, fascinating tapestry of small-town life.

The result is a poetic documentary of quiet American surfaces and intimately eavesdropped people.

Alternating between stunning fixed takes and quick you-are-there camera movements, Bill and Turner Ross's portrait of their tiny Ohio hmetown (the title is its zip code) weaves a hypnotic tapestry out of everyday banalities.

For such a small place (officially a city, Sidney sure feels like a town), it's strikingly diverse.

Imagine Norman Rockwell had he been more of a realist than a nostalgist.

All I can say after watching this great great film is WOW !. The directors were such a genius that they were capable of using such normal everyday-life into something so special and that we could possibly see those connection that people share in a community. Sense of simpliness in this film is so uniquely beautiful that it's become one of my favorite documentary films of all time. A purely constructed film.

There is no narrative thread for this documentary -- but more to the point, there is no insight provided into how this small town is different from any other place in the country, big or small: same alcohol, same occasional crime, same football teams, same churches. We did not discover anything. Cinematography was good. But i would not spend my time on this documentary.
